Isn't this beautiful? This is the kind of
landscape I saw on our trip up to the Snowy River.

The only town we came to was the town of Cooma.
An old fashioned Aussie Town. Rustic. Rugged.
Here I walked into the park and found this monument of
"The Man From Snowy River"

Here it is! The Snowy River!
See that little blue speck down there? That is it.
Or that is all we could see from that spot. Isn't it beautiful?

Marc went down on the other side of the
Snowy River Damn and took these photos of a waterfall.
On Thursday Sept 13th 2001 we went up to the Snowy River. The "High Country" I have read about so much. Have you seen the film "The Man From Snowy River"? It is the Banjo Patterson poem that the movie was based on. One place I really really wanted to see was the Snowy River! It was our last day there in Canberra, we were leaving in the morning for Sydney. I was in total awe of the scenery. Rock fields! Fields of rocks! As though the heaven's had opened up and rained down rocks of all sizes. Boulders amassed. It was totally awesome. I am sure there were other ways to get a better view of the Snowy River but we didn't have much time and I was not up to climbing down an embankment like that :) so I was very happy to just stand and gaze out beyond at what I could see.
