Could we do without friendship? No, is what I'd say.
It brings sunshine to our lives, each and every day.

It cannot be bought or sold, and it doesn't come free,
Each friendship has to be nurtured by you and me.

We must always be kind and helpful, and never hold a grudge.
When a friend is feeling down, sometimes they need a nudge.

Friendship can touch our hearts, and be more precious then gold,
Each one so different, and they never come from the same mold.

You cannot put a price on it, its value is too high,
And they cannot be replaced, like clouds in the sky.

Sit down sometime and think, how lonely you would be,
If you didn't have a friend to talk to, and say hi there, it's me.

Friendships don't just happen, they're not a one-way street,
They must be tended like gardens, and like a flock of sheep.

A gift is what some call it, just like a precious gem,
Not to be taken lightly, so I'll say this once again,

If you treasure all your friendships, and value them as such,
Never get too busy, and never, never lose touch.
