1. We don't have to be embarrassed if someone we love chooses to behave inappropriately.

2. Leave things alone, and let people be who they are.

3. You are not responsible for making other people 'see the light' and you do not need to 'set them straight'.

4. You are responsible for helping yourself 'see the light' and 'setting yourself straight.'

5. If you can't get peaceful about making a decision, let it go. It's not time to make it.

6. Let go and let God.

7. We cannot (and have no business trying to) control anyone's emotions, mind, or choice.

8. We cannot control the outcome of events.

9. We cannot control life.
